Having been to St. Maarten several times before, we knew exactly how we wanted to spend our day this visit, and we took a taxi to Maho Beach.  This beach is world famous for the airport runway just a matter of feet from the beach, with big planes landing overhead.

Several years ago I shot the first three photos below while on a boat in the waters just off the beach.  As you can see, it looks like the plane is about to smash into the beach and all the people gathered there.

We reserved beach chairs and an umbrella from Driftwood Beach Bar at #2 Beacon Hill Road.  The young man who served us was polite, kind, and responsive to any need or wish we expressed.  We could not have asked for any better service.  And the meal was awesome too.  Linda ordered ribs, and Mike got his Caribbean favorite – whole fish – both served with rice and beans.
