With an early morning flight on Wednesday, October 29, we stayed in a Lexington park/sleep/fly hotel overnight Tuesday.  Just before leaving home for the drive to our hotel, we received notification from the harbor cruise company that our long-planned Thursday Statues and Skyline cruise on a nice little boat with huge windows and for which we had reserved deluxe seating was cancelled due to high winds and rain forecast for that day.  We scrambled to quickly book an alternate harbor cruise for Wednesday (before the storm would hit), and we realized that some of our plans that had been made months in advance were now in flux.  Such is travel . . .

Our flight arrived at LaGuardia just before 9:00 am.  We headed to our hotel near Times Square and began making up a new itinerary as the day went along.
